From dthe very 1st day of finding this establishment over a year ago Mason has always exceeded my expectations. I have not found a butcher anywhere this close to perfection. Custom cuts, not a problem, they will do it. Catering for a crowd and looking to impress when entertaining , they have you covered. Looking for a private event just ask. Incredibly rare cuts from Japan, the south and to west Canada and of course local Ontario. If it's HQ they will have it. They also have beautiful everyday products, amazing burgers, poultry, pork and seafood. Just ask, they love to source if they are able to. Education is paramount. I always know I am going to get the complete story. Hints on how to cook, etc. This is truly an epic experience. I visited this butcher shop yesterday and bought two pieces of New York striploin steak along with some ground beef. The owner was so nice and patient, taking the time to explain everything about the steak and the different cuts. The service really stood out! We cooked the steak yesterday and it was absolutely delicious—tender and full of flavor. I highly recommend this place to everyone looking for quality meat and great customer service.
Totally thrilled with my order! I was a bit nervous about ordering meat online, and that UPS delay by a day didn’t help—talk about anxiety, haha. But the amazing team at HQ assured me everything would be great, and they were right! Thank you so much! :)
Always outstanding service and quality products. There is not a single time we have not enjoyed the meats we've purchased, always fresh and high quality. Mason and his team are well educated and clearly love what they do. They put a level of effort into their work that I have not seen at any other shop before.
Favourite place to buy meats and eggs. Staff are super nice and knowledgeable (Mason and Aiden are great!). They'll cut your steaks to order instead of other places that have steaks cut and set out for who knows how long. Cost is high but the quality can't be matched. Only wish they had longer hours so I could visit more often.
I’ve been going to hqmeats for just over 2 months and it has been a life changing experience for my smoking and grilling. You get a personalized experience with every visit. Meat cut to order, suggestions and tips to improve your cook, and overall exceptional customer service. All staff is knowledgeable and friendly but Mason, the owner, is on another tier. He truly runs a service first business. The value to quality ratio is off the charts. I’ve had beef ribs, prime brisket, triple a rib eye and strip loin, prime rib eye, and pichana wagyu. Every single purchase has exceeded my expectations and my smoke or grill was better because of the advice I received for each cook. If you’re passionate about meat, visit once, and you’ll never go to another butcher again.
Hate leaving a negative review, as I generally love giving 5 star reviews. Was loving HQ meats until my last order. Purchased 3x packages of the chicken teriyaki, as I always buy from them. Came home and cooked 1x package and the meat was very sour. Called them right after I purchased it, and told them. Was not offered any help, or the option to bring it back. They just assured me there was nothing wrong with the meat. My wife ended up being sick for 3 days, so we threw out the remainder of the packages we purchased. I live in the community and wanted to continue supporting HQ meats, but was turned off from this last order.
