Morningstar Church doesn't look like much on the outside... Just looks like any other nondescript building. If you don't see the signage, you wouldn't even know there was a church here. There's not that much parking space. The parking lot is small and limited, compared to other churches of this size. The church itself feels like it's stuck in time, specifically in the past... Say, in the 90's. Everything is coated in a shade of brown. The floor, ceiling, walls, tables, chairs... Feels pretty dreary. But, perhaps it's the charm (or not, unless you could try to think positively). If you could get past its color scheme, the church has a resource library and a book return, a gym, a children's ministry in the basement, a student lounge found upstairs, a few lounges, coat racks on either sides of the auditorium on the outside, 2 sets of washrooms on either side of the auditorium, overflow rooms (where people can go in and sit to listen to the worship/sermon), a little sitting area (tables and chairs), a small coffee and tea station with snacks, a donation station, a main office, a kitchen located in the basement, a nursery room, a conference room, and a lost and found corner. They don't allow food and beverages inside the auditorium. The auditorium is where the worship and sermon takes place. I found out that in international/multicultural churches that music is very loud. Blasting. Perhaps people are very hard of hearing. It seems like that after the service is over, they prepare some snacks (various types of snacks) at the coffee and tea station. Those snacks clear out rather quickly in the first 3-5 min after service is over. Before service starts and after service is over, the resources library is open for use/browsing. It seems like every week after the second service, in the student lounge, a mini lecture on some sort of interesting topic is held. It's not a full blown lecture or a full-blown sermon on a book of the Bible. It's usually a question or topic that's more niches down and isn't covered by the Bible. During these mini lectures, sometimes food is being served at them. Sometimes there are snacks (banana muffin), and sometimes there are actual meals like soup, rice, ribs, chicken, naan, chocolate biscuits/cookies, banana bread. The food is good and the mini lectures are educational and are related to the topic of God/Jesus and the likes of that. So far, I've seen only 2 different speakers. The church also has a lot of programs such as senior get-togethers where they eat and chat, play pickleball, dance, Bible study, etc. Overall, it seems like the church has a lot of programs, and a lot of food. The coffee is watered down and lackluster. The tea is weak (you need 2 tea bags to make it strong). The color scheme is super brown, stuck in the 90's, but that's a you do you thing. There's a lot of facilities and features. I've only been here for 2 Sundays, so I can't say much. This is just my general impressions. Edit: It seems like before the service starts, there are snacks placed at the coffee & tea station. However, it also clears out rather quickly too. I've now been here for more Sundays, and the mini lecture after the 11 am service is hosted by one person who talks about interesting topics (in the student lounge, upstairs). The lunch is kind of almost like a pot luck style, but you're not forced to bring food. You can bring home cooked or store bought food if you so wished. It's usually a small group of people in these gatherings. New people can come and join too. Learn about interesting stuff, eat good food, and talk to people for different backgrounds. It seems like this mini lecture doesn't get advertised within the church itself, so only a small handful of people actually know about it.
I was to attend the Baby dedication for my niece at your Church on Mother’s Day, to find out membership is far more important than the dedication of a child to The Lord, What does Mathew Ch 19 vs 14 state?? I suggest that The Senior Pastor read this scripture, The Lord did say in the last days that we would see days like this. I will Pray for your Church and The Leadership and congregation, Father forgive them… The way you treated my Sister, may it never happen to anyone ever. Was looking forward to attending a “Baby Dedication “ for my Niece at Morningstar , I’m not a member of this particular church but have family that attend. I was told you need to attend classes which is understandable because it’s a MEMBERS ONLY thing , one of the issues I have is that who’s to say someone won’t dedicate their child , attend all the classes and ultimately say I don’t want to attend this church anymore ..you honestly never know . I’m afraid this behaviour will encourage people not to return to church and develop a lack of faith in god. I was shocked when I heard the conversation Imagine having a pastor tell you “Maybe Morningstar isn’t the right fit for you “…. Hopefully this type of behaviour doesnt happen again and everyone feels as welcomed at Morningstar as they should . God Bless
This place is just beyond a church, it's a family anyone could proudly belong. I was in touch with this church even before arriving Canada, the church is "Christ" personified. Friends, I invite you to our Sunday worship, your soul will surely be blessed.
Imagine going to this church for help cause someone crashed into your car , but the man in charge of showing me the video was there the day my car got hit, and knows the person who hit my car .. he showed me video up until my car got hit then it went blank .. lol... imagine trying to get help from a church and get a cover up ..? Someone make this make sense .. then to top it off he was laughing at me outside after he went to tropical nights to let the manager know that I was there looking for the survalence tape..
I've been going with my husband and in laws for 7 years now . I love this church. It was sad to see pastor Bob leave but the new pastor is really good. This church is so welcoming and friendly.
This was my first Christian Baptist Church when I was a newcomer. Pastors preach the Biblical Expository and Theology. I love visiting library to lend books there and free snacks after the service!
