Ever since we have discovered Kanae Cafe for their delicious cakes and pastries, we would always order their cakes and eclairs for special occasions. This year, we ordered their Christmas special Hazelnut Chocolate cake and it tasted absolutely splendid. Crunchy chocolate layer on the outside, sweet nutty hazelnut cream paired with their light sponge cake. On top of it all, the cutest decor ever! Might be our family’s favourite cake by far! Would highly recommend this cafe if you’re looking for cakes and desserts! ❤️
Very good cakes - tried the Ube, Sesame, and Fruit Island. The Sesame is excellent. The Ube is good. The Fruit Island has too much whip cream and not enough cake. The presentation was very nice for all the cakes. None were too sweet, except for the Fruit Island.
Nothing wrong with the cake. But here's the details that can make a difference. Writing the message on the cardboard can be epic fail if the cake moves like this.
Really good cake and pastries here and its a cute little store. I've been here multiple times and got a cake for my girlfriends birthday here. Nice little cafe with good desserts/snacks.
Kanae is such a lovely cafe! The choux are delicious and I most recently tried their pumpkin flavour which was tasty. Recently, I ordered my partner a Kyoho Grape cake for his birthday and selected delivery service. The Kanae staff were very accommodating with the delivery time and the packaging was thoughtful. I would definitely order from them again.
?BIG RED FLAG: bought a slice of cake, and the staff grabbed the cake by the sides WITH HER HAND Seeing the selection in the store, I really appreciate the thought that go into the flavours. You see flavours and combinations that are unique not platitudinous, like grape, nama chocolate, and caramel coconut. These are interesting enough that would be worth returning and trying out. But I’m really not sure how to feel after seeing the staff take out my slices out from the display case with her bare hand. No gloves. No using some sort of utensil. Not even retrieving by the paper tray. Just bare hands on the sides of the cake. There was plastic film on the cake, but still, that visual is very off putting and just doesn’t feel sanitary. Additionally, while I was studying the menu, the staff asked if I was ready to order. I asked for drink recommendations, for which she seemed wildly unprepared. Asked me questions about what I wanted and basically went “well there’s this drink but it’s not that great…”. Not sure if she really wasn’t prepared to recommend stuff, or if she just had trouble communicating since I had to repeat everything I said twice. I don’t have high expectations for counter staff at small places that encourage take outs, but at the very very least, they should not be detracting from the experience.
Delicious choux pastries with great asian flavours. The grape was definitely my favourite! All of them were not too sweet and was nicely presented. Staff were also super friendly and glad they open quite late till 9pm. Just wish we knew how to keep them to eat the next day as they got soggy. Are we supposed to refrigerate and then heat it back up?
