The best Vegan experience. It doesn’t even feel like you’re eating vegan food, the flavours were phenomenal. The vibes were too notch. The energy was pure positivity. And the food was just a bonus. They also have some really good coffee and other beverages that beat out Starbucks any day! Real ingredients and Fresh! Make sure to try the Mango Flatbread.
We chose this restaurant particularly to celebrate the birthday of a vegetarian person. The food was enjoyed by vegetarian and omnivore alike. Delicious food. Kind, warm, friendly and accommodating owner. Wishing them every success. We shared and enjoyed the lentil stuffed sambusa (samosa) and the Beyayenetu platter with tangy, lacy injera. Portions were generous. PS it was a little difficult to spot the restaurant when heading south as it is on an unremarkable north east corner with parking at the rear of the building.
I went yesterday for the first time and had an amazing experience. The place is very clean and beautifully decorated. The owner is extremely kind and attentive and the quality of the food was delicious. The potions are generous. I’ll definitely come back! I’m hooked!
A VEGAN restaurant. Cute little hangout spot for food or drinks. I had the Rasta pasta which was reasonably sized. Small suggestion: pictures of the food would help for those who are not Ethiopians to understand what the items look like.
Met with some friends at their favorite, vegan, Ethiopian restaurant - 13 SUNS Ethiopian Café & Eatery. Everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious!! Favourites included Beyaynetu (Mixed Veg Platter), Mushroom Tibs, and Sambusa. For drinks, we ordered smoothies and cappuccinos, which were also great! Also, must say, all the staff were super nice A must visit vegan restaurant (especially on a chilly fall/winter day or evening)!!
This is a vegan, Ethiopian cuisine restaurant. It has ample parking. When you walk in the aesthetic is something else! Like being in an updated living room but 1960s vibes. It's clean, and the light hits the windows just right in the afternoon to sun bathe! I could imagine a cat being real cozy here. We ordered food to go, however, it is a great little coffee shop to hang out in. The food was delightful with a bit of spice that sneaks up on you like - ooh that has bite! But the colours and the flavours complement beautiful. No wonder this is a hidden gem in Scarborough (recommended by Doly Begum the Provincial rep herself). Do yourself a favour and give this place a try
Let me tell you, my intention was to come and support a friends business, plain and simple. What I experienced was much more than that. A true hidden gem with authentic flavors and a great vibe. I was actually blown away by how good the food was; the owner is super passionate about this spot and you can feel it when he talks about the food and how he carries himself with the customers here. We ordered the mango flat bread, Sambusa and Beyaynetu which is basically a platter of different flavors of vegetarian sides served on Injera. Look, I’m not food critic but I can honestly say I was so happy with these flavors and confidently say I’ll be back. We got some coffee at the end because why not? And even there coffee hits different. A real hidden gem and I’m so glad I have a place like this close to my home Highly recommend!
