We wanted good quality Zongzi 粽子(green bean, salted pork and salted egg yolk 鹹蛋黃with sticky rice wrapped in lotus or other leaf, and found it here, based on menu with old prices posted by others. This store sells frozen ones with choice of 1/4, 1/2 or whole salted egg yolk. Bought 2 whole salted egg yolk ones ($8 each), delicious. Good for a treat once in a while. We tried their frozen har gow as well (only one size available. Har gow was good but we prefer the Jumbo ones from other stores. The women who staff this store are very nice, thank you!
First time buying frozen dim sum from Wa Jee Foods. I found them from Google Map search and didn't know much about them. The chive shrimp Har Gow was very good and I highly recommend it. The chicken shimai was on the dry side. Overall I am happy with their quality and will come back again in the future.
Oct 2021 Tue. Frozen Chinese dimsum, fry Chinese samosa/pastry/spring roll, sticky rice dumpling and steam rice buns in pack of 6 or 8 are got here to re-steam or air fry at home. Price range is moderate at this moment. Their make has not been tried for quite a long while since competitors pop up around town. Let see how it fare now. Usually, steam 燒賣,粉果,蝦胶 in the right kind of 蒸籠 would be the flavor. But try low oil, low heat simmering fry then roast gives a suprise twist.? 25 Oct, 2021 Tue. Steam the peanut, half duck egg yoke, pork sticky rice dumpling 花生蛋黄鹹肉粽, $5, in boiling water for 25 min. The dumpling seasoning and flavor is mild and to my taste. But the sticky rice is too soggy and soft. Half egg yoke is too little yielding enough flavor. So is the portion of pork. It is more a 糯米雞instead. 如果糯米在扎作時,充實和掤緊點,整個糉子重了點,樣子小不了多,但蒸熟了,飯团很彈牙,挺好吃呢!Wish the chefs might improvise the formula and craft making new line of product for us to enjoy with. 師傳們, 多作新嘗試,新口味, 謝甚! Amazing and delicious dim sum! There is a bit of a line up, so make sure you are dressed warm if you are going in the winter time. One person can come at a time because the space is very tight. It is worth the wait!!
Very authentic dim-sum. It's nice to be able to have dim-sum whenever we wanted. There are 2 types of dim-sum in need of improvement. 蘿蔔糕，芋頭糕 and 糥米雞 in my opinion，both are too bland and not much filling.
Gave Wa Jee a try because we saw a line outside of the store. The dim sum is a bit smaller in size and a bit more pricey. Some items are better than others. The 鮮竹捲 (steamed bean curd rolls) are the best - good balance of pork and vegetables. The siu mai and har gow are good, but smaller size. The 糯米雞 (sticky rice in lotus leaf) is bland and too little filling compared to the amount of rice. We usually go to Fu Kee and did a comparison of their menu items. I would definitely come back to try other items and 100% pick their bean curd rolls again. Note that the picture shows a mix of items from Wa Jee and Fu Kee.
Here is where I get my peking duck wraps. But frozen dim sum things are delicous: 粽,燒賣,all kinds of 包 and Chinese desserts. Reasonable price and good portion. Lack of instructions on reheating, which should be appreciated by all.
