This review is one that breaks my heart. I know the owner of this store and he has been nothing short of the nicest man on earth. This review is in hopes that he sees it and I can reach him as the attendant doesn’t care. I will definitely take it down once I am able to address this issue with him. I had purchased Suya Pepper and used it and then realized it’s red pepper. There was no way of saving the proteins I had used it on. I did take it as it to the event and everyone couldn’t eat it as they said this is not suya beef, this is red pepper. I called the store and was told to return it - I did and when my husband got to the store to complete the return he was told that it is indeed the suya pepper they sell. He spoke to the “manager” and she said there’s nothing they can do for him as that is indeed suya pepper. I called the store immediately to say that’s an unfair treatment. You made us drive all the way down to Scarborough (we don’t live there) cause you asked us to return it, you didn’t think to do a quality check on the product and instead told us to go back home. She said well I can take it up with the manager the next day. I am like I don’t think this is fair. You are acting like one customer doesn’t matter to you and she said take it up with the manger. P.S she was making what I presume was personal phone calls while my husband stood there waiting for her to finish her chit chat with no pleasantries before she attended to him. I own a buying and selling business and as much as I know people can be difficult to deal with, I still try to reason and see how I can make their experience at my store pleasant. The good outcome of this all is, my very close friend sells Nigerian food stuffs now, so I don’t get to loose out on buying Nigerian things but as always there’ll be one or two things she doesn’t have and I’ll rather drive to Oshawa or not eat that food or find a way around it cause they is always options.. I hope to hear from you
I’ve been going here for 3 months now, never once had a bad experience… the service is awesome, very friendly staff.. not to mention they have a really wide variety of options for all your African goodies… let me hear say you no find wetin you want
This is an intentional Nigerian Business owner, polite, helpful and very professional. The prices of items were fair, nothing outrageous and a wide variety of items. I Am definitely coming back.
The customer service experience left much to be desired. The representative I spoke with on the phone was rude, impatient, and condescending. Quality customer service is essential for a successful business, and I hope this feedback helps bring attention to areas for improvement.
The lady at the store is so so rude! She look down on you as if you went to beg in that store! Not once not twice! Today I sent my daughter she asked her about the noodles she didn’t even respond she bought Klin detergent and ask for a bag, the lady responded for what? Lady fix your attitude…
Great prices and good quality African groceries. However, please always check your receipts, I've been overcharged and undercharged for items bought sometimes, and I brought it to their attention to rectify, which they did. Also, you can get store points towards a purchase if you input your phone number at checkout
This place is well stocked with everything African grocery. The place is neat and well organized . Cashier and the meat guy all very pleasant.I will definitely go back there and meat all fresh. You can never go wrong shopping there and thank you for bringing this to us in Scarborough, no need to drive down to North York again.
