Everything was going well until I got mayo in my burger which I asked to remove. You may want to double check the bottom of the burger because I somehow missed the mayo hidden under. The chicken was juicy and flavourful. They remade the burger for me. The male cashier was apologetic and kept apologizing. The lady didn’t seem too happy.
The chicken here is hands down amazing, I only tried the spicy version and the flavor on it was soo well balanced that I didn't even bother with the regular version. Their combo deals are also really good because how am I getting two big pieces of fried chicken, a huge burger, good portion of fries and a drink for like 13 bucks. They even accept Amex while KFC doesn't, even though KFC is a lot more pricy and have inferior quantity and taste. Their reviews are pretty mixed and the only thing I've experienced to be true is that their wait times are consistently a bit too long. I don't find it to be a huge issue but waiting almost 15 minutes for what is mostly precooked food seems a bit much. But the complaints about the food being "garbage" is absolutely ridiculous and I feel were mostly written out of some kind of altercation with staff regarding wait times since a lot of people complained about the staff being rude too. Though personally I found them to be totally normal, they weren't rude to me once, just regular people doing their job. Call-A-Chicken is definitely worth a try as long as you have some time to spare for a flavorful and filling meal at a great price!
Ordered here quite a few times and food was pretty good given the price you paid. They had a few deals around (which i didnt see in other locations) and they were of pretty good value. Wings were meaty and tasty and burger was also delicious. However, 2 stars deduction because of what happened today when I visited... MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ORDER ONCE YOU RECEIVE IT AND THAT THEY PLACED THE RIGHT ORDER FOR YOU!!!!! I ordered their Woodside special (which i said the name of) which should come with 4 pc wings, fries, drinks, and a choice between the chicken sandwich or 2 pc chicken. I specified that I wanted the 2pc instead of the sandwich since I've never tried their fried chicken before (but had their sandwiches quite a few times prior) and she said okay. After a few minutes i got my order and waited for my bf to get his meal and we dined right there at the food court. Upon opening the bag, I noticed she gave me a sandwich which I didnt order while the box contained the 2pc chicken. I realized she had given me the wrong order so I grabbed them both and headed back to talk to her, thinking it would be a simple fix. However, after acknowledging that she had given me the wrong combo, she told me unfortunately all food items sold cannot be exchanged! She said next time she can give me the other combo that I supposedly ordered but not this time (which is pretty confusing?). I understood the potential issues with it but the sandwich I was trying to exchange is still taped shut (and i had just opened the chicken box just to verify) and I literally got the order less than 5 minutes ago! On top, it wasn't even my fault why I had the wrong items but rather she placed the wrong order for me despite me saying the NAME of the combo and specifying that I want the chicken instead of the sandwich which she said okay to. This was poor customer service on so many levels given you placed the wrong order for me and gave me the wrong items which I didn't want, and instead of rectifying your mistake, you basically forced me to take an item I didnt want nor did i ordered! In the end, after a bit of a back and forth, she did allowed me to get the wings that I wanted but I had to give the chicken back and had to keep the sandwich which I didnt want or ordered. So please, if you are ever ordering from this location, make sure they actually placed the correct order or else you will be forced to keep food that you didnt order.
The chicken is very very oily and greasy. The kids love deep fried chicken but refused to eat those. Looks like the the chicken just dip into the cold oil and coming out. Not order this brand any more.
Chicken is dry and cold. Waited about 10 minutes when there is no one else in line. Unwilling to make fresh fried chicken. My recommendation is to go to KFC across the mall.
My bill total was $5.64 they do not accept credit cards. So I paid by cash in $5.60 and was short of 4 cents. It took me by surprise that the cashier was adamant she need the exact change and can’t loose 4 cents for the order. That was really funny too. Finally I paid by debit card. The burger which I bought is not great for sure. I never waste food, but their food is really awe full in taste, I need to throw it away. They really deserve lesser than 1 star. I don’t recommend to anyone. Such a waste of time and facing a rude cashier
Went there, the third day of August. The quality of the actual Chicken sold is very good. That's five stars. The size of the pieces is very good, better than KFC, better than the revised Chicken-Joy. ... Why did I knock two stars down? Because I ordered spicey chicken. Now maybe its due to the newness of their restaurant equipment and the chef's are still trying to get familiar with its operation. Or because it simply is a new outlet. ... Especially for chicken spicing, can be a delicate proposition. Don't get me wrong nothing wrong with the spicy chicken, but I'm thinking why? It neither improves nor detracts from the chicken taste. It does nothing. I really think while they are brand new they have to come up with something unique and superdelicious. ... ie. baste the pieces with Maple Syrup. Corn Syrup, Sweet & Sour then spice it? I don't know but my strong recommendation is to experiment to nail their taste down. Why? It should be pointed out that from Swiss Chalet, McDonalds, KFC, Chickn NJoy, all very close to one another to succeed Call a Chicken will have to make a strong statement for its product or frankly it won't survive. And I do want it to survive. .... Now this is still good chicken. Fair price. But other than size of the pieces nothing else that recommends it. Going back and buying some chicken in a couple of weeks for the next review. Always give it a second third chance.
