Walt is superb to deal with! Exactly what you look for in a mechanic. He is friendly and professional. He spent time out of his day to come see my old snow blower to tell me if it was worth repairing or not. He also looked at my brand new snow blower to give me advise on whether I should keep it or buy another one. I really appreciate the care and time he gave me, which he did not get paid for. I would recommend Walt's Small Engine Repair to anyone looking for a trustworthy master mechanic who goes above and beyond for his clients.

Walt is so knowledgeable that he was able to diagnose the problem with my snow blower over the phone. I followed his instructions, which was to drain the carburetor bowl and my snow blower is now back up and running. He actually saved me money, in fact it cost me nothing. He's very honest! Would highly recommend.

Walt fixed my snowthrower last year and today, Jan17/22 it performed as it should. Easy start, no stalling and able to handle deep snow and get it out of the way fast. Walt told me it needed carb adjustment and cleaning, timing adjustment, new spark plug and oil change. It now runs like new. Glad I spent the money.

So I called Walt the other day as I had a couple of sheared shear pins stuck in my 12-year old Troy Bilt snowblower that I just couldn't remove (after multiple aggravating attempts). While he could have removed / replaced them (or if not taken it to someone to drill out the pins), Walt recommended I NOT take it to him, as it would cost the same as regular "service", and likely I would need "service" again in a year or two given the age of my snowblower. Instead Walt gave me advice for things to try, like try removing the pin from the other side, which ended up being the EXACT strategy that worked on the one pin, and gave me confidence that I would eventually be successful on the other pin (which after applying some WD40 I was). So that was about the best service I (n)ever got!!! And definitely when my snowblower does eventually break down, I now know exactly who to call.

Walt is very knowledgeable with small engines. He takes the time to explain how these engines work and what the problem most likely is. He provides a tutorial on how to maintain your engine so it doesn’t break down again. I went there around mid May and dropped off my 12 years old Cub Cadet self propel lawnmower. It hadn’t run in about two years. He got it working like new! I didn’t cut the grass in about a month after the mower was fixed so it was very long. I couldn’t believe how well it cut. It just kept on running. I waited another month and just cut the grass recently. There were knee high weeds and grass. Again, it started right up and kept going! I don’t like to wait that long to cut but had to for personal reasons. I highly recommend Walt! Fred

Called Walt to fix a mower, from the initial phone call to end it was a great customer experience. Friendly, knowledgeable, fast service and i even learned along the way. There aren’t many independent honest places like this left these days. Would highly recommend!

Walt is fast, knowledgeable, ALWAYS fair, accommodating, and immediately ready to help. The man is a savant with engines and takes great pride in his work. Walt goes the extra mile and makes sure that his customers have a solid understanding on how to care for their machines once he's repaired what we've done to them. Having broken and damaged my fair share of engines over the years, finding Walt was a God-send. For small engine repair, you simply won't find anyone better. Any statement to the contrary is simply nonsense and shouldn't be given any credence.

Jack good to hear that it came out. I forgot to mention to fill the hole with grease and apply some to your new pins. As I mentioned on the phone, your models tends to rust in place so you could also do the same to the bolts that you didn't change. If they don't come out, then just position them tip vertical and spray them with RustCheck a few times each year.
