I've had nothing but amazing customer service from this location's team. Probably one of the last places left in Scarborough that manually sharpens skates. I want to give a big thank you to "Kyle" for the crisp sharpenings and service and to "Nick" for helping my son get a brand new pair or skates.
First time I’ve ever felt incriminated, I was shopping for headbands close to cash and then two managers decided to come closer and stand near the door with arms crossed staring at me the whole time. I won’t be running off with a $8 headband but it made me feel very uncomfortable shopping there. I did buy 3 headbands and made my way out but he was checking if I made the purchase. Terrible experience
Today I went shopping for new shoes for my 8 year old. I made two visits to this location, as I was contemplating options. Both visits, I was lucky enough to be helped by a young man named Isaac. Isaac was so patient and knowledgeable - I really appreciated his support. I know I was completely scattered and I asked him a million stupid question, he was so dedicated and never made me feel like I was being a burden for a moment. I was really hoping I could give more a personal review to the management directly at this Sport Check location but I don’t see any links to do so. I sure hope this message gets back to them. Thank you Isaac from the Warden and Eglinton location!
The Philippino kid with curly hair and tattoos working there seemed like he was bothered for helping me “doing his job” when I asked for a shoe size that I literally can’t get myself from the stock room. I was talking to him and saying thank you… flat out ignored me, why work there if you do not want to help and rather gossip with your colleagues
I'd like to thank Isaac for helping me find a new pair of athletic shoes for Zumba dancing. He was very knowledgeable about the brands and types of shoes to best protect the knees, and I appreciated how he combined expertise with excellent customer service.
Great customer service overall, was greeted at the door and immediately offered assistance, especially seeing as I was there to purchase wireless earbuds which needed to be brought up from the back. My only complaint however was the inclusion of a Triangle rewards card with my purchase despite not being asked at any time whatsoever if I was interested in signing up or even possibly considering one. This only led to more plastic waste in landfills, and I would have much rather been asked if I would like a card so that I could have declined and not had to throw out unnecessary waste. The only reason I didn't refuse it upon being handed the card was due to my being in a rush and not noticing it with my purchase until I had returned home and fully unpacked my bag.
Nice store with ample parking available out front. I went on an evening to look at and possibly purchase a YETI cooler. Unfortunately they only had one in stock that I saw and it was way up on a top shelf and it was a larger size than I wanted. I asked an employee if there was any other stock and he said no, my best bet was to try the Leaside location. The young man I spoke with, was friendly and helpful. I had seen yeti coolers online, (on the Sport Chek website) but wanted to get an idea of the size in person. The rest of the store was fairly typical Sport Chek. Colourful displays, staff were available. Lots of different clothing available by your favourite name brands. I did end up going to the Leaside store where they had a little bit larger selection of these coolers but not many. I ended up buying online directly from yeti. Good shoe selection of all kinds. ***Update: we had the worst customer service interaction today in this location. An employee by the name of Arty told my wife that “he didn’t need her attitude” and waved his hand dismissively and walked away. So shocked that she was treated this way as previously we have had excellent service in this location. She was waiting outside the change room while I tried items on and he made a comment asking her if she was waiting in line or just looking in the mirror … she said I’m waiting for my husband and he replied. “I don’t need your attitude”. To which she replied, “I don’t need yours.” we are regular customers at this location and have always been treated well but Won’t be returning to this location ever again due to this treatment. Disappointing experience from a retailer we have come to expect a higher standard from.
