We were trying to plan a memorial luncheon and considered Qsis. When we called to discuss the event, we were told a price and given a menu. We asked if we could see the space before booking and set an appointment. The owner was away on holiday so we met with a man who was the manager (forgot his name). He was late and then gave us a different (higher) price and also gave us very limited details on the menu. Less than impressed with the professionalism displayed. Ended up booking somewhere else and had a very good experience.
Was at a function at this banquet hall a couple of weeks ago. Was VERY disappointing, disorganized and the table cloths were dirty. The food was not good. Overcooked pasta. The owner did nothing when the person running the event had issues. The hall is run down. And… there was no mention when this event was booked that there would be a ‘gratuity’ charge!!! Full payment should not be asked before the event.
My family surprised me with a party for my birthday at Qssis banquet hall. It was a fantastic turn-out. The room was very nicely decorated, and I could tell that the staff put time and consideration into making sure everything looked amazing. The staff was incredibly accommodating and ensured that all my guests were taken care of. I was very happy with the dinner service, and the food was cooked to perfection. Having my birthday party at Qssis was a great experience that I will undoubtedly remember for a lifetime. My family and I are in agreeance that any special occasions we would like to celebrate together will be at Qssis from here on out. Qssis, thank you for a wonderful experience, you are my go-to banquet hall!
This banquet hall is located at the intersection of Kingston Rd and Markham Rd. The parking lot is very tight but there was someone outside to direct you to an open spot. There are washrooms on the main level and upper level. The wedding ceremony took place in the main level banquet hall and the staff were very quick and efficient in changing over to wedding reception dinner. The food was served buffet style. You are allowed to bring your own catered food or choose from their selection. The food was decent there was bbq chicken, baked salmon, penne pasta, rice and peas, steamed mixed vegetables. The mixed vegetables appeared to be the frozen vegetable medley you can buy in the grocery store. The penne pasta was bland and lacked seasoning. There was spring rolls and bruschetta served durint cocktail hour. The desserts were purchased outside of the banquet hall. Overall the venue is pretty nice. Some of the walls need a new coat of paint as it looks dated. If you are looking for a reasonable venue for your celebration I suggest you give them a look.
Mark and his crew were amazing to deal with. We held our school’s music banquet there – a last-minute switch due to some new board regulations. We were a little apprehensive as it was a bit of a hike for the students on TTC… but (a) Mark was so easy and laid-back to deal with, and (b) the kids absolutely loved the venue. They were treated so well! The decor was included, which made it easy for us in terms of schlepping things there. They even threw in the projector/screen/sound. We will return in the future!
I did my Wedding and Reception here on May 30th and it was wonderful. The Owner Mark was very kind and compassionate, and he worked with me and my wife's many requests. He made himself available to help make both the ceremony and reception very special, and even helped us find a place to do wedding photography. Mark went above and beyond to help us make this night go well. The ceremony was arranged and decorated beautifully. The transition from the ceremony to the reception was smooth and professional. They re-arranged the tables and chairs quickly and efficiently. The food was excellent. There was plenty of food during the cocktail hour, and the appetizer were very good. The dinner food was delicious and there was a generous serving. Many of my guests were able to get seconds and some even thirds. I especially liked the beef, and my guests all told me how much they loved the chicken. The staff were all very kind and friendly towards us. The clean up after dinner was also were quick and efficient. The center pieces at each table were beautiful, and even with 185 guests it felt spacious. The audio equipment worked without fail, the clean up afterwards went smoothly, and throughout the night Mark worked with my co-ordinator to make the event go smoothly. Mark was wonderful to work with and he treated me as a person and not simply someone he was doing business with. He helped us plan out the lay out of the ceremony and reception, he was generous with his time, and he communicated with us throughout the whole process. Mark is a wonderful person to do business with. I am so glad that I chose this venue for my wedding. His pricing is beyond reasonable and the service was excellent. I have no complaints, and many praises for Qssis. Thank you Mark and the staff at Qssis, you made this day very special. I would %100 recommend this place to anyone looking to hold an important event. (sidenote) I also have had many friends who have had their debuts here in the past, and all have had positive experiences. All the people that I know that have done business here have nothing but good things to say about this venue, its food and its service.
We had our wedding on Saturday May 31, everything was just beautiful. We had an amazing day. Mark was so awesome to work with, he listened to what we asked for delivered our requirements. The staff was friendly and eager to help out with our requests. The food was amazing, our guests did not have a negative comment to make. Thank you again Mark and staff
