Couldn’t be happier to have City Cottage Market in the neighborhood. This incredible bodega brings a thoughtfully curated selection of goods you won’t find in most places, all with a strong focus on quality and local sourcing — from craft spirits and wines to unique treats. The owners have amazing taste. But more than just a shop, it fosters a real sense of community in an area that truly needed a catalyst for connection. Whether you’re a local or just passing through on your way to the Bluffs, it’s well worth a visit.
Dog friendly, but NOT PEOPLE FRIENDLY. Daniel become abusive to the extent wife was in tears when 80 year old couple asked him to turn the volume down on the music so we could talk in normal voice when drinking our coffee. No accommodation or cooperation although $50 plus purchase made. Escalated to the point where he played bouncer and forced us to leave. Scary volatile freaky individual, hair trigger. Safety issue. Several other similar complaints about the music. Claims he was having a bad day. BE CAREFULL!!!
Picked up some Wong's Ice Cream here which is much appreciated given the Wong's store had closed down. Called ahead to make sure they had some in stock and the lady who answered went out of her way to let me know what flavours they had. This was much appreciated as I do not live anywhere near the area so this saved me time. Did a bit of browsing and they seem to have a nice selection of pantry items and more. It felt like a mix of an elevated "convenience store", a cafe, and local crafts. The person running the store was very friendly and cheery which makes for a great shopping experience. Highly recommended you drop by to check it out!
So grateful to have this wonderful shop in our neighbourhood. You can really feel the sense of community as you walk in: from the friendly conversation to the products/brands they carry. It’s truly a gem!
City Cottage Market is a great addition to the neighbourhood. It has all the essentials you need and more. Friendly and fun atmosphere. Daniel, Liana and the entire family are such a pleasure and they make everyone that visits their store feel like family. Love this place and this team. Doing amazing things for the community!
I can’t say enough how much I love this shop! It is a lovely family run business with gorgeously curated items that are high quality and delicious and almost all locally sourced! My favourite essentials here are the coffee, the frozen dumplings (from daily dumpling wonton co), the lazy daisy cafe’s biscuits, the birchcliff honey, and a tonne of the sauces/oils as well as cocktail basics from Dillons. So thankful this local gem exists.
We brought our kids to the Ginger Bread Man decoration event held by this store yesterday and the kids had a lot of fun. Thank you for organizing this event and thank you for returning for the community. I hope the community will continue to support you and your business will become better and better.
