They need to identify what is part of their buffet, and not part. They quickly said what key meats were there, but after buying the buffet, suddenly "All this is not part of the buffet". No signs what each is, and nothing traditionally North American at all. No eggs, etc. Be aware and ask FIRST.
I went to this place after seeing their buffet on social media and drove all the way from Bowmanville with high expectations. The food itself was good in taste, but the major disappointment was that almost everything was cold. Every dish in the buffet was served cold, except for the mutton soup and chicken/fish 65. What made it worse is that I went only about two hours after the buffet start time (which runs till midnight), so there’s no reason the food should have been this cold so early on. Later, I noticed in another recent review that someone else faced the same issue — the restaurant doesn’t keep their steamers on. The same thing happened with me. When I told them the food was cold, only then they switched the steamer on and even asked if I wanted my plate microwaved for heating. I denied, because that would have taken away all the moisture and essence of the dishes. And since the steamer takes time to heat up, by the time I was done with my meal, the food finally started to feel a little warm — but that was of no use as I had already finished eating. This really ruined the whole buffet experience. When people come for a buffet, they expect warm, fresh food — not cold dishes sitting out. This place really needs to fix this basic but very important issue.
The food is reasonably priced, but it was served too cold. As the restaurant was about to close, they didn’t keep the steamer on. It’s important to ensure that the food is hot enough before serving it to customers, especially as the shop is closing.(I tried buffet at night).
Fantastic Experience at AK Timeout! Visited over the weekend and opted for their buffet – over 20+ items to choose from! Special mention to the Mutton Biryani – it was incredibly delicious and brought back the true South Indian flavors I’ve been missing since moving to Canada. A big thanks to Nandana for the exceptional service – friendly, attentive, and always smiling! The entire experience felt like a warm, flavorful trip back home. Can’t wait to return!
Food is very tasty. My family enjoyed buffet a lot. Lot of varieties. All Chicken, mutton, fish, veg items are very good. At this price, these many items are unbelievable.
I have visited this restaurant twice, and my experience with the food, particularly the buffet, has not been good. I would not recommend the buffet to anyone because the taste did not appeal to me. However, if you’re interested in trying dosa, that is definitely worth it.
Such a nice little restaurant. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Everything was delicious, will definitely be going back again.
