Such a good place to thrift, they keep it clean and have a great selection. Left with some cool pieces that were reasonably priced! Definitely coming back!
I went to this location on Monday, October 6th around 12pm with my friend. They donated some items in the donation bins, and we proceeded to enter the store and begin shopping. We were only at the front entrance looking the their bags, and accessories section. We hadn't even gone that far inside. Before one rude and racist employee approached us ( only us) in the whole store. Proceeded to tell us they have a bag and drinks policy. She told us we needed to leave them ( our personal bags and drinks) at the front counter in order to keep shopping. 1) There we no signs at the front entrance or anywhere in the building indicating this 2) Other customers with similar bags, that were large or oversized were not given this information. 3) I noticed that no other customer's personal belongings were behind the cash registers. 4) If you have such a rule, please email me, or contact me and we can discuss this. 5) We both felt like we were being isolated and pick on, as the only two young, women in the store. When this whole incident occurred we both felt unwelcome, discriminated, targeted, and like we weren't being treated fairly. So, we decided to leave and take my friends donated items back. I will not recommend this thrift store to ANY of my close friends or family, and if the manager wants to reach out and discuss what occurred I am happy to do so.
I don’t know what’s happening to this store. They told me that my backpack was not allowed in the store…excuse me? They want me to abandon my bag with all my valuables in a thrift store? That doesn’t make any sense and would be a huge liability if anything goes missing. I’ve never been to a store with this policy. This needs to change or you’re definitely going to lose a lot of customers. On top of that it seems like they are not enforcing this rule amongst all customers. There were two older white women in the store who had their bags. One standing literally right next to me and looked surprised by this policy herself. I’m very disappointed, don’t think I will be coming back here anymore.
Very low variety. Charging for items as if they are new. Asked me to leave my purse at the front of the store amongst thrifted items, no security to protect my belongings, rule didn’t seem to apply to everyone, only a select few. Staff is so rude, for what? LOL, you’re not paid enough to have that type of attitude. It’s a THRIFT STORE people… not a CHANEL store…get over yourselves.
I have been a regular customer at the Kingston rd/ Lawrence for many years. I love shopping there but after COVID the prices go so high, more like price gouging to me. Way too expensive. So I've decided to go to another location and realized the prices there are reasonable. My advice to management is be considerate when pricing items and do not forget that you are serving low income neighborhoods.
I love the store but just recently have noticed an increment in the prices which was quite sad because after covid everything has become so expensive... i hope they take this into action.
no inspection of shoes or perhaps anything on the items for sale. i was browsing shoes, and as i brushed the interior insole for inspection of my desires for cushion and so forth, i was pricked by a sharp needle inside at the base of the interior! bled, and hurt bad. careful browsing things here, they don't seem to inspect the items for safety. you know the saying, for sale as is, well, it seemed to be truly AS IS to the sense and word here at this location, to the point where the item being safe or not is also AS IS.
