Tried their taro mochi cake, and wow—super soft and not overly sweet. The taro chunks were such a nice touch! Prices are pretty affordable too, which is a big plus.
Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience and have to share. AO Cake can possibly ruin the birthday of your special someone or your day. You might want to give it a second thought before ordering the cake... AO cake inform me the cake pick up is delayed just 1 hr before my specified pick up time, I HAD to wait 2-3 more hrs on the day of pick up, for a cake thats already paid for. It was a 40min drive for me to AO, and picking cake up on time was much needed since the day was fully planned. My 3yr old crying and upset during the wait. Shortly I was told the flavor of the cake ordered is unavailable due to the ingredient gone bad, HAD to choose another. No discount or alternatives, certainly no full refund were offered for AO's mistake. (Do I really have to ask...?) Is that the way to run a business and treating your customers? Cake does not taste good (fine... is mainly for the looks anyway). The flavor (or name) of the cake is pretty foolish. All of the disappointments above costed +$100... There is a Daan Go Cake Lab close by, so I suggest ordering there for guarantee quality & service.
I ordered the Fruit Fiesta cake for my mom’s birthday. The presentation was beautiful, but I was expecting a mixed fruit cake on the inside and was surprised to find it was only taro mochi. The cake itself was light and moist, but the mochi layer was quite thick, which made it difficult (and messy) to cut. The whole cake basically fell apart. We also found the taro flavour to be quite subtle, so it didn’t come through as much as we had hoped.
The front desk staff was very polite and thoughtful, which I really appreciate. However, I hope that next time, when someone tries to cut in line, the staff could step in promptly to stop it, instead of allowing those who are loud and appear intimidating—but lack basic manners—to skip ahead and receive priority service. I hope the front desk can kindly remind such individuals to queue properly by saying something like, “Please line up, and we will assist you shortly,” rather than giving priority to whoever raises their voice the most. 前台很有礼貌，也很贴心周到。但是希望下次处理插队的时候，可不可以及时制止插队而不是默许了那些嗓门大看起来不好惹但素质差的人插队，并且优先服务插队的人。希望前台小姐姐下次可以和插队的人说，请您先排队，等下服务您，而不是谁嗓门大谁就优先。
I have been ordering cakes from AO cake (superego previously) from day 1 of knowing them. I used to work for a famous wholesaler store where superego sun was my customer. My manager once ordered cake from them and i tasted that. Being not having a sweet tooth, i instantly fell in love with their cake freshness, softness, and less sweetness. And from that day i have ordered cakes from them for each or my special occasions!! Every guest at my parties have always asked for the bakery name and i have recommended them AO cake for their special occasions as well. Love AO cake ❤️
Waited for 30+ minutes in the store for a PRE ORDERED cake. Said pick up at 5:30, then at 6:00, then made us wait for another 30 minutes in the shop telling us it’ll be ready soon. if you can’t get the cake in time maybe don’t take the order?
I ordered a Peppa Pig themed cake for my daughter’s birthday. It came out really CUTE! Exactly how I wanted and my daughter just loved it! Not only that it looks good it’s got a great taste as well. Definitely recommended
