Definitely one of my favourite Indian curry spots in town. The curries are rich in flavour, and the roti and biryani are packed with generous portions of meat. However, the counter area and equipment could use a bit more cleaning — it was a bit unsettling to see the chef handle them with bare hands.
We have ordered food from here several times now and have consistently enjoyed it. My favourite is the Chicken Vindaloo with the roti on the side. I always ask for spicy and it never disappoints. It is spiced to fit South Asian tastebuds, which we appreciate. The roti is freshly warmed before serving and has the perfect balance of crispiness and softness. The meat options are all Halal!
I have been to Anna’s Roti house multiple times now. Tried a variety of his curry Roti’s and I have to say, the Lamb Korma is my favourite. The Chef, takes pride in his culinary offerings and the food is always cooked fresh and delicious. The pricing is fair and reasonable for the quantity you receive. Some folks have criticized his Biryanis and the consistency/type of the rice use in the making of. Such folks need to educate themselves on the fact that Biryanis from different parts on the Indian subcontinent differ vastly in its ingredients, consistency of rice, type of rice used and method of preparation. His biryani is delicious and would be aligned with the South Indian method of preparation with spices you would typically find in south Indian /Sri Lankan cuisine. Don’t spend your money at the “Butter chicken roti” joints, come here and patronize a hardworking family man and a talented chef instead!
“This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The service was absolutely horrible, mainly because of the guy at the counter—a rude, unprofessional man with a big stomach and a moustache. He acted like he was doing us a favor by taking our order, showing zero respect or basic customer service. The food was just as bad—stale, flavorless, and clearly not fresh. The restaurant itself was dirty, with an unpleasant smell and poorly maintained tables. To make things worse, the prices were ridiculous for such low-quality food. Avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy wasting your money and being treated like a nuisance.”

Unhygienic environment..food taste is pathetic.. ordered roti once, had to be in toilet all the time after eating it.. too much spicy even if ordered for mild spicy. The owner dont like criticism and make lies when faced with truth about their poor food quality. I have seen the shop guys use bare hands to make food without even washing it. Foul smell throughout cos of unhygenic environment
Edit to say, even though I moved away from the neighborhood years ago, I came back today and enjoyed the same hot spicy delicious roti that I remember! Yeah! And like I said before: ZOMG please go here! 20 years I used to live above Vena's Roti on Queen St W and that was awesome. Now that I live near Anna Roti, I feel just as lucky. Huge portion for the price, even just the basic curry chicken was frickin delicious. A roti could feed two who aren't me, and even the drinks are bargain.
