I've been to this location (Warden & Eglinton) many times but today was the first time I feel disappointed with the way an associate named Andrew assisted me. I came to do a return but it seems like this person, based on his impression, doesn't like it. At first he was checking the shoes I'm returning, then after some time he said he'll be back coz the buzzer is ringing. When he came back, he assisted another customer while I'm still waiting. Then he went to check the shoes again then asked if they were worn when It clearly shows it wasn't. So I said he can compare it with the same shoes they have to see if they're worn or not. After a little argument, he asked for the last 4 digits of my payment card, which I gave him and he said it wasn't the same. Good thing I paid with Google pay and show him the proof of transaction, showing the same card number. He was hesitant at first, as if he didn't want to process the refund, because he was still insisting it's a different card. I just find him unprofessional and this will make me not go back to this store again.
⭐ 1/5 – Worst SoftMoc experience ever (Warden & Eglinton location) I’ve shopped at many SoftMoc stores over the years, but this location is by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. On two separate visits, the customer service was shockingly poor: 1. I went in to buy running/work shoes. The two associates working (one Black woman, one white woman) acted visibly annoyed the moment I asked for help. No smiles, no greeting, just obvious irritation that I dared to need assistance. I still purchased the shoes, but the attitude left a terrible impression. 2. A different day, I brought my senior mother in to find winter boots. Again, the staff seemed bothered that we needed help trying sizes and styles. I don’t understand how people with this kind of attitude are representing the SoftMoc brand or elect jobs in customer service. If they genuinely dislike helping customers, this isn’t the right job for them. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a shoe store in my life. SoftMoc at Scarborough Town Centre or Fairview Mall has always had friendly, helpful staff; this location is the complete opposite. Management seriously needs to address the hiring and training here. I won’t be returning to this store, and I’ll be warning friends and family to avoid it too. Very disappointed.
I visited this store today and purchased a pair of shoes that were on a 25% discount. At the checkout, I made a lighthearted comment to the associate, joking about whether the discount could be 40% instead, just to be friendly. Unfortunately, the associate, Andrew, responded by making a remark about Islam, saying it would be illegal “in Islam” to do that. I found this comment inappropriate and disappointing. My joke was simply about the discount tags — I did not mention religion, nor did I expect my appearance to be linked to such remarks. That said, Andrew also mentioned that new sales discounts are coming soon and that the store is expanding its brand variety. I appreciated that information, and it shows he is otherwise helpful and knowledgeable. Associates should remain professional and avoid making assumptions or comments about a customer’s religion. Respectful service means focusing on the customer’s purchase and experience, not personal characteristics. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as customers deserve to feel welcome and respected regardless of their background.
5 staff behind a counter not assisting with anyone. Training wasn’t being done. 3 customers had to ask for help while they stared at you shopping. Go to a different SoftMoc. Poor customer service.
Great experience, impressive selection with plenty of shoes to choose from at lowest price. The store had good variety of boots and was well-organized with a clearance wall. Would recommend for anyone looking for quality footwear options.
I had such a great experience at SoftMoc thanks to Laura! She was incredibly helpful, patient, and made sure I found exactly what I needed. Her friendly attitude and great customer service really stood out. I left the store feeling happy and well taken care of. Thank you, Laura!
I went in there to purchase some shoes but I had no idea what I was looking for. As I went in the store this amazing manager Brittany was such a great help to me. She took the time and provided some many options to me, I almost took all of them. I will definitely be going back to this store and I’m definitely recommending this store to all of my peers. Thank you so much
