We wanted to try this place , menu looks promising , menu is too big, it’s over whelming. The place was totally empty when we walked in , we were the only customers , no one acknowledged, too busy on their phones, so we left .
As a regular to #torotoro I am HIGHLY disappointed in the customer service I received at this location. I came in and was standing there for 5-7mins waiting for service and not one person acknowledged me, no greeting, no “we’ll be right with you,” nothing. One was wiping down and folding boxes, one was making the sushi and the rest of the 4 people were behind the counter doing nothing but joking around and scrolling on their phone or staring at the side counter computer for pick up orders. I eventually left because it was clear no one cared. I went across the street to Asian Mart instead and grabbed sushi. What a difference. I was greeted immediately with a smile, treated kindly, and even told to have a nice evening — and I didn’t need to tip to receive basic courtesy. Toro Toro didn’t just lose a customer — Asian Mart gained one. The sushi and customer service were both great. If you value your time, money, and being treated with basic respect, stay away from rude establishments like @torotoro. I didn’t deserve that treatment after being a loyal customer for so long. Your staff simply don’t care and that says a lot about the management and how they were trained.
I’ve always wanted to try Toro Toro and was happy that there is one close to home! I have tried 3 various combos so far and they are all amazing. The salmon poke bowl is loaded up with deliciousness. Very flavourful. I’ve also tried the taste box for 2, and it’s perfect. You get to try various sushi with sashimi and sushi taco. Lastly the salmon and tuna burrito are very tasty as well. Would recommend if you are looking for some tasty sushi! The ambiance inside is very nice and I hope to dine in sometime in the near future. Keep up the great work!
The rolls were insanely delicious! The fish was high quality and although there’s a lot of ingredients in the rolls, they were well balanced in flavours! I just wish the rolls were a bit bigger! The prices are like $14-15 per roll which isn’t too bad!
This sushi place is actually so good. We got the maki box to share, and for the first time in my life, I genuinely enjoyed eating sushi. The tempura stayed crispy even over an hour after picking up and bringing it home due to delays, and the ratio of ingredients added the perfect amount of texture and taste. Rest of the family really enjoyed the sushi as well. Definitely ordering from here more in the future, and everything tasted so fresh! Might be the best sushi place in Scarborough, or at least one of the best, if someone like me who doesn’t like sushi, likes this place. I went to Tokyo earlier this year, and the sushi here is definitely comparable to places I’ve tried there, maybe better depending on your personal tastes and preferences.
High quality and tasty sushi and poke place. Impressive presentation and excellent food. Very fast service. I am reducing 1 start just because of the menu access. The menu is only available through scanning a bar code, and the web page is not even mobile friendly so it makes it hard to explore. User-friendly and accessible menu should be the second priority (coz 1st priority is for the food itself). Overall it's worth trying. I guarantee that you will be hooked. The food is really good.
This "counter service" is so off-putting that there wasn't even a cup of water served unless you buy their bottled water. There are like 20+ people making sushi and at least 10 were just standing there with their hands empty finding work to do. If this is a restaurant at least like give us cutlery and water but in the end this is just a well packaged fast food stop.
