I really hate giving any store a one star review because I don't want to damage a business's name. But, I have to be honest, this place sells the worst tasting food. Everything they serve is old and stale. I kid you not, everything tastes terrible. You can clearly see that the food isn't fresh, it looks like it's been sitting in the fridge and front counter in rotation for days. from the short eats and kothu roti to the puttu mix and everything else....it all tastes bad. I tried giving this place many chances, but it was the same every time with no change. I truly hope they change and improve because I want to see them grow. To grow, they absolutely have to improve their food and stop serving complete garbage to people. But, one positive factor is that the lady at the front who served me everytime I visited there was very friendly.
believe in giving someone a chance to correct their mistake specially when it comes to quality and service. We started to go there almost on a daily basis spending on average of $30 on weekdays and 50-80 on weekends if we buy Kool and Waterlapam tray. So with that amount of visits I had 2 complaints. 1) I bought a side order of med size mutton curry and when got home the container was over half filled with just gravy with just little meat in the bottom. It was around 4:30pm so I get that tbe pan was low but when I saw it had enough meat but wasn’t served in to my container. I called the store back and told her that I didn’t pay for gravy and would have been nice to have decent amount of meat. She stated that was how it’s served. I told her this wasn’t the 1st time I bought this and that’s not right. I let this pass . 2) 3 days back I ordered a half tray of watlapam. I have done this 3 times before and it was ok but the 1st time the tray wasn’t filled and they did reduce it by a small amount. I was ok as I had promised my family I was bringing it. This time when I picked it up yesterday the texture was completely off and it was dark brown as if it was burnt and bitter. I called and spoke to the girl I was served by and she said it’s the usual recipe . I asked her if there was other in the shop so that they can taste the same batch. She told me it was made only for me. . I took a fair amount in a container so that they can sample but they understandably refused to try it as it came from outside. But even visually you could see it was the wrong colour as it appeared to have been over cooked and burnt. The owner was there at this time and we started to have a dialog. He informed me that he can’t give me a refund (which I didn’t ask) without checking the others that were made from this batch and let know. I told him I was told there was no other and this was the only one made and was for me . He said he was the owner and the others didn’t know what they said . I also told him about my 1st with the curry incident and his response was “you seem to always have problems” I told him I come regularly and may have been there over 70-80 times in the past few months . And 2 times out of that to have an issue is not bad and he nodded, He said he will check the batch in the back and call me back so I left . As I left it dawned on me to ask to buy something he had in the back that he claimed was made with the mix mine was made. I went back and was told it’s not ready as it needs to be cooked and will be ready in 2 hrs . I called them back and told them I’m coming back in 2 hrs to buy one and asked to have it ready. She said she will call back when it was ready . 30 mins after my call I got a call from her saying my watlapam was ready and to come pickup . I went home and picked up the tray I got from them as they refused to try from what I served I took it and went there . The owner was there outside the front door and took the tray from my wife as we got off the car and went in. He then turned to the cashier and told her to give my money back. I told him that’s not what I was here for . He walked to where the garbage bin was and threw my tray smashing it into the garbage bin. I asked him why he did that as it was mine and I came to buy what he had in the back . The girl then said if we give that you will say that not good either . I so wanted to call the cops as he had no right to destroy something belonging to me , I didn’t want to make a seen or waste police resources or my time . The owner said the most dumbest thing .. “ we don’t make things for taste “ I asked him if you don’t make food for taste what do you make it for? I have never had an establishments Owner behave this way to any paying customer. The reason I wanted to narrate my entire story with accuracy is because of the Owner‘s previous comment stating that the customer should have spoken him the owner or to one of his customer service agent.. If this is what you can expect from the owner for your concern or feedback. Not deserving of anyone’s business .
I wanted to give them 1 start or less coz these guys made me addicted to their lamprais , have to drive eve ru weekend from Mississauga to Scarbrough just to eat this feast, food is amazing man.
I initially had a disappointing experience with stale biriyani, but I went back the following night and was pleasantly surprised by how the staff handled it. They apologized sincerely and gave me freshly made roti, which was delicious. I really appreciate their willingness to make things right. Mistakes can happen, but the way they responded showed professionalism and good customer service. Thank you!
I ordered mutton rice and curry. They served 3 veggie curries with that order. Mutton was cooked well and delicious. Also, My brother likes their fish buns. I will try them on my next visit.Thanks for the nice meal.
We bought 2 biriyanis 1 chicken n 1 mutton biriyani..take out. Oh my what with tall claims..n names of dishes ..The food was extremely bad...meat was old and taste was not even close to any biriyani. Rice was not cooked completely. We had to throw the entire food in garbage. Kindly don't ever attempt to tey this restaurant as you may end up falling sick.
I brought a itly combo and I could clearly say it was spoiled the moment I took a bite after just leaving the store in my car. I was in a hurry that I didn't go back and give it back to them to check. But this was not at all acceptable. The item was at least one day old as I went around 8.30am.i know for sure itly was old and seems like it was heated with microwave.any one buying food from here do not give to your kids.Would never recommend this place?
