The lamb soup was super flavourful! You could tell that they cooked it for a really long time. Also had their beef and lamb raojiamo and they were crispy and flaky on the outside and juicy on the inside. 11/10!
The broth here is incredibly fragrant — you can tell they’ve really taken the time to cook it properly. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and everything tastes clean and well-prepared. As someone from northern China, I genuinely love this place. Will definitely come back!
They have the best lamb soup full with flavours and large chunks of lamb, and you can tell they’re not made with anything artificial. Owner is very friendly and told us that their soup is cooked for many hours. Chinese burger (roujiamo) is also great and my 4 year old son loves it. Price is also very reasonable for today’s food price. Wish they can open up more locations but the owner told us that it’d be difficult because they have high standards and don’t want to raise the price too much.
The former owner, along with his chef, has already left. According to the new owner, the lease expired, so he decided to take over and continue the business. Lamb soup? The glass noodles were undercooked, and the broth lacked depth — clearly not stewed long enough for the flavors to develop. BB noodles? The noodles were suspiciously hollow inside, with barely any sense of fullness. I suspect the new owner has switched to a cheaper supplier. And during the entire meal, the teapot sat cold on the table — not once did anyone come by to offer a fresh one. Honestly, I really miss the previous owner. He was sincere, detail-oriented, and always polite. You could feel the care in every dish. Now the new owner says he’s planning to change the menu. Well, go ahead. Less portion, same price, and the taste has already gone downhill. You do you. We won’t be back. All the best — and no need to see us off.
Seems like a family run restaurant. Interior design can use some work, but I could care less because the food trumped it. They speak Mandarin and English, and provide a Chinese and not so good translated English menu, to which the owner admitted the translation was bad. She was very nice and offered help if needed for ordering anything as my partner and I can't read or speak Mandarin. Regardless, we managed to order what we wanted and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the following: stir fry cumin lamb, pork Tang's burger, spicy cold noodle salad, lamb skewers, and biang biang noodles (has lamb and bok choy). I expected the food to be as salty as it looks, but no. Everything, especially the deadly looking biang biang noodles, was wonderfully balanced in spicy and salt. The noodles are hand pulled, bouncy, chewy and is the best I've had. Lamb in all the dishes was well seasoned. Their spicy chili oil condiment has good flavour and mildly spicy. Pork Tang's burger was very juicy, but the bread is on the thicker side to my liking. Nevertheless, delicious food all around. Recommended for sure.
Authentic. Reminds me so much of local family restaurants that I enjoyed while living in China. Nothing beats these noodles, rich in flavor, hearty, filling portions. The staff are kind and easygoing.
Worst 小炒泡馍 ever had in my life. Service was pretty much zero, the dude looked confused. Update, as i couldn’t reply to the message from their owner, this was at Dundas location.
