I came here to get my acrylics removed because the location was convenient and the ratings were good. So I thought a simple removal would be fine. During the acrylic removal, my nails were not soaked properly. Instead, the technician used a plastic extension to aggressively pry and rip the acrylics off. This was very painful and extremely rough, especially since my nails were already sensitive from having acrylics on for a while. As a result, the natural nail on my left ring finger cracked down the middle, exposing the skin underneath (in the first picture). For over a week, it burned whenever a breeze of air or water (hot or cold) touched it. In addition to the pain, the cracked nail was left uneven with sharp edges, causing it to constantly catch on fabrics or anything I touched. Each time it snagged, it would lift further and cause even more pain. My other nails were also left thin, cracked, and damaged. Rather than addressing this properly, gel top coat was applied over them to make them appear “presentable”. The technician was even about to apply top coat over the cracked nail until I stopped her. This level of damage is incredibly frustrating given that I only came in for a simple removal. What made this more concerning was observing another client during my visit repeatedly telling the technician doing her pedicure that her cuticles were being cut too close and that it was burning. At one point, the client pulled her feet away and wanted a different technician. Despite her complaints, the service continued the same way. I understand budget salons exist, but basic nail safety and proper removal techniques should be non-negotiable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this salon for acrylic removal or detailed nail services.
I am so happy with Avani Nails & Spa. Especially my last 2 visits. I show my inspo pics and I always respectfully say to make it their own creation as the artist, and they always make it great. They are kind and always ask if I’m happy with the direction they are going. If I don’t they are happy to change it and it’s a perfect collaboration. I’ve only started doing acrylic nails (I do acrylic because I am a hairstylist and they are stronger, that last through a million washes, hair colour and products) this year but my pedicures have always been a great and relaxing experience as well. These are the latest design that has me ready to take on the busy Christmas season with a little sparkle and fun. Thank you!!! ☺️
I went there a few weeks ago to remove my fake nails, and the experience was terrible. The technician completely damaged my natural nails — they were filed unevenly, drilled too much, and now one of my nails has separated from the skin due to the trauma. The lady who did my nails clearly didn’t know the proper way to remove acrylics. My nails are now thin, painful, and uneven. Very disappointing and unprofessional service.
Worst experience ever! I showed a picture which is completely different. She kept making mistakes while doing the nails. This looks so ugly. I would have appreciated if she had told me that she can’t do the nails similar to the picture i showed. I told i want exactly as the reference picture!
My first time here was good. They were fast, got the design I wanted and I left happily which made me go the second time. My second time was a disaster. At first they said I didn't book which I did and I had to show them proof, then I was given a technician who didn't know what she was doing. She didn't get the shape right, she knows nothing about ombre but claimed she did. She kept cleaning to redo each finger like 10 times, wasted 2 and half hours of my time for just a refill. The nail still came out messy and I do not like it. It's definitely going to be my last time here.
I had an amazing experience getting my nails done with Victoria. She did such great prep work, on top of the overall design and finished look. I absolutely love them!
The technicians here are excellent. However, it is important to find the right technician for your preferred nail style. The owner is particularly skilled at her work.
