Tiramisu birthday cake is delicious. it’s fresh made, the cream is smooth and soft. definitely will try again. Thanks the cook Tiramisu 蛋糕很好吃。 它是新鲜制作的,奶油光滑柔软。 肯定会再试一次 謝謝師傅用心製作?
Bought the mango cake. Very disappointed. The sale said it is just made. However, the mango turns dark when I got home. I asked her is the mango sweet , u an tell she lied....the sponge cake is sweet and the mango is sour....the combination of the whole cake is not working. So please only order their famous cheese cake, like blueberries cheese cake only.
Ordered strawberry shortcake for christmas dinner and all of my family loved it, especially my little brother. We do not like too sweet cake but the cake from tokyo bakery was perfect sweetness to us (it was the same sweet level as the korean bakery I used to go) Great price and great cake! Definitely coming back for future events.
This small shop has good value-for-your-money French-style pastries. Their prices are best and pastries and buns taste better softer than many other patisseries. $4.25 for a piece of patisseries mousse cake baked with the quality like a Japanese chef. Best in Scarborough and Ontario. Don't let the store older deco fool you though. Highly recommended for anyone.
I've been going here for more than 15 years and finally decided to write a review. It's probably the best Chinese bakery in Scarborough in my opinion. I think they changed owners roughly eight years ago, but I didn't notice a change in cake or bun quality. I'm not aware of any "deals" like 6 buns for $7.50 that you'll find at Max Bakery (3290 Midland Ave, unit 8) or Kin Kin Bakery and Bubble Tea (Agincourt Mall/Bridlewood Mall) that but I'm totally ok with that because the quality and amount of filling is worth the premium. Don't get me wrong, they're both solid places (Max Bakery is better), but they definitely skim on the fillings (especially the meat filled buns). The BBQ bun had chunks of meat in it, you can actually see them! The red bean pineapple bun had individual red beans and not just a paste. A good way to tell a pineapple bun is legit is when the custard isn't shiny bright yellow - often, it means they didn't use colouring. We always get our fruit cakes from them. A lot more fresh that T&T and St. Germain Bakery. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
It is a small bakery in a run down strip plaza. You would never know it was there unless someone told you about it. They produce Hong Kong style buns and mousse cakes. The bun variety is limited to the basics (bbq pork bun, pineapple/polo bun, hot dog bun, etc.), but the quality of the dough is fantastic. Soft and chewy. Better than a lot of the other more expensive Chinese bakeries around the area. Be aware though that they only put out a couple of buns at a time (like 2 or 3 of each). I don't know why. If you have a bigger order, you may want to call ahead of time. The cakes were delicious and far exceeded expectations as I don't even usually like mousse-style cakes. The price for a large cake (9" or10"?) is $26, which is VERY REASONABLY PRICED for the quality. I challenge you to find a similar quality cake at that price. They also sell individual mini cakes at $3.75 (compare it to other bakeries at $7-$8). We tried all of the flavours. The only one we didn't enjoy was the blackerry. Chinese places usually do a terrible tiramisu and chocolate cake, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. I will definitely order those flavours again. My Jamaican in-laws loved the passionfruit the best. They speak mostly Cantonese, but can also communicate in Mandarin. Not sure how strong their English is. If you only speak English, it may be easier for you to go into the store rather than calling on the phone. The staff is so friendly. We have swished over to this bakery now because of their quality and service.¹
We have been going to Tokyo Bakery for more than 20 years. Their cakes, egg tarts, and pastries are always fresh and delicious. My favorite bun is the pineapple bun. They also make mini fresh fruit tarts for parties. Pictured below is the egg tarts and cakes I’ve ordered from them. We always get compliments on the egg tarts and fresh fruit whipped cream cakes we buy from them. The cakes are light, airy, moist, and fresh, with layers of sponge cake, whipped cream, and fresh fruits inside. They also make mousse cakes in different flavors, we’ve ordered mango mousse before. Service: clean, friendly, speaking both English and Cantonese. Cash only.
