I rated it a 3 due to its value and the options available for customers. I believe this place is best suited for groups of at least four because the pot is huge! Even with five of us, we couldn't finish it! If we hadn’t ordered other dishes, we definitely could have finished it, but we wanted to try a variety. Coming with just two people isn’t ideal, as the meal would be quite pricey if you want to sample different dishes, and you’ll likely end up with a lot of leftovers to take home. I wish they offered half portions; that seems like it would be easy to do. I'm not sure why they don’t have that option. I would definitely go back more often if it were available. I've been to the Richmond Hill location a few times, but this was my first visit to the Scarborough location. There are two locations in the area, but only one serves the pepper pork tripe chicken pot, and we initially went to the wrong one. The staff was friendly. We ordered the signature pepper pork tripe chicken pot (cash price) for $63.88, Sweet and Sour Pork ($17.99), and two Casserole Rice dishes for five people. I forgot to take a photo of the four kinds of reserved meats casserole rice ($18.99) and can’t remember what the second casserole rice was that we ordered. Overall, the casserole rice was just average, but we mainly came for the pepper pork tripe chicken pot, which was still delicious!
Very disappointed with how the restaurant handles their sign-up system. The waiter at the front didn’t seem to use the tablet properly — people who came after us were seated first. We were told there were only 4 tables ahead of us, but I counted at least 6–8 tables being seated before we got ours. Ended up waiting over an hour just for “4 tables ahead.” Really unprofessional and frustrating experience.
The food is good. Price is reasonable. Service is great, especially Gina, She is awesome. Whatever we asked for, she would do whatever she can with a big smile.
The food was tasty and had big portion.I came here with my family and we ordered a lot. We were surprised by the flavor,but the environment was very noisy and hot.We even couldn’t hear each other. I do hope the host could turn down the air conditioning and music.
Extremely bad management. Initially, We tried to call 2 months early to reserve a table of 10 people, coz it's a busy restaurant and its hard to reserve a table so we called early to reserve it but they said it was too early and they cannot make a reservation for us. So we waited and called yesterday to reserve it for 7pm for March 4th but the person who answered the phone said they cannot reserve for 7pm coz 5pm reservation has to be reserved first, even though 7pm reservation was still available, but they won't do it, what kind of stupid policy is that?
Arrived at 6pm, refuse to tell you how the wait time is. After 2 hours tells you there's 2 more tables, then this 2 tables took another hour... Expect 3 hours of wait time if you want to come here. We were a table of 7 waiting and they also refused to take reservations since they only accept reservations for people 8 or more...yet we had to wait for a table for 8...
I have frequented the first location across the street for many years, I have decided to try this new location and the soup quality cannot compare. The soup tasted watered down. I will only go back to the first / original location.
