Just like every other review, i wouldn’t recommend this doctor’s office. The receptionist who work here are extremely rude and unhelpful. it’s they’re job to take calls yet when you call them they ignore your calls, and keep you on hold for long waits, it’s extremely hard to get in any appointments at all, they cancelled appointments on my family multiple times without a reason. Had a booked appointment and had to wait over 3 hours to be seen… (don’t make an excuse for this awful behaviour, do better!!!!)
I need to express my deep, sincere gratitude for Dr. Joesph Paramagurunathan, and the superior level of care and compassion he has provided me with, since he became my family doctor (approximately 2 years ago). My first appointment was a phone appointment, two ish years ago, and I felt very comfortable talking to him, right away, he has always been patient and compassionate, listening carefully to all my concerns, and has been able to answer my questions and provide knowledgeable information and thorough care for all the strange, unusual medical conditions and presentations for which I was seeking treatment and management. I am truly blessed for being connected with Dr. Param, and I cannot say enough positive things about his bedside manner and extensive skill set as a medical doctor, and also as an amazing human being❤️ Sometimes the clinic can get busy, but I have even had wonderful luck on the days I’ve gone in for appointments. The front desk receptionists have always treated me so well, and my personal experience with wait times and communications with the office for follow-ups have been excellent. Not to diminish or speak for anyone else’s experiences, but I have been very fortunate with, and thankful for, the level of care I’ve received from Dr. Paramagurunathan at Malvern Medical Centre❤️ thank you so much!
I recently visited a dermatologist at the clinic with a skin concern that, while not serious or cancerous, was still important to me as a patient. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The consultation was extremely brief—lasting barely five minutes. Without any meaningful physical examination or discussion, I was quickly prescribed a treatment and told not to 'overthink the issue'. As a patient, I believe I am entitled to understand my diagnosis, the rationale behind the prescribed treatment, what exactly is being addressed, and for how long. None of these were explained to me. I left the clinic feeling dismissed and unheard, with no clarity on my condition or the expected course of care. The doctor’s approach felt rushed and entitled, reminiscent of the character Dr. House from the TV series—perhaps knowledgeable, but lacking empathy and patient engagement. I expect medical professionals to treat patients with respect, provide explanations, and address concerns, not just issue prescriptions and send them on their way. I hope this feedback encourages a more patient-centered approach in future consultations.
I appreciate the online booking portal, because I can see availability easily, and it’s simple to book an appointment. I especially like that I can have a phone consultation with my doctor. Saves me going to his office, particularly the wait time. I wish they had that option years ago!
