I’ve been there on several occasions and I recommend them to anyone wanting to have the dog groomed as I will continue to use their grooming facilities.
Love this groomers. My pup always comes out looking amazing. And the staff there are always awesome, never had an issues! Would highly recommend. Passionate about their craft and customer service is top notch!
I originally came here due to another groomer saying my dog needed to be sedated to be groomed. They are able to safely groom Milo no problem. I’ve been coming here since 2023 and they do an amazing job every time.
I had an amazing experience at this dog grooming! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and they had a fantastic selection of healthy and happy pets. I found exactly what I was looking for, and I will definitely be coming back!
If you are looking for a place where the groomers truly love, this is it. Big dog and Little dog grooming is staffed by the sweetest, most caring people. They took wonderful care of there clients during the appointments. You can tell they treat every dog like their own. They are were gentle, communicative, and ensured my dog had a positive experience. The groom was excellent, and we will absolutely be repeat customers. Five stars for the amazing staff!
While I had taken my dog to various grooming services before, Ren's Pet at Lebovic Ave spoke positively about this company so I was interested in giving them a shot. I followed the online booking process and wrote a lengthy, detailed paragraph informing the staff of my dogs behaviour in grooming settings. I emphasized that my dog is well-behaved and friendly, but has diagnosed anxiety and will likely be scared throughout the grooming process. He is absolutely not a biter, but he will squeal and squirm around. Despite this, the staff informed us we could bring our dog in for a nail trim that weekend. During the nail trim, only one staff was working. While she was very friendly and did what she could to assist in settling my dog, he fell off the table, choking from the restraints around his neck. My entire family was deeply unsettled by this incident, but the staff member urged us not to take our dog elsewhere, insisting their team could handle the grooming if they had additional help. They asked us to call back to arrange a future appointment. From that point on, Big Dog Little Dog Grooming repeatedly strung us along. Each time we called, they asked us to try again later, dragging the process out for weeks. Then, during our most recent follow-up—at their request—they abruptly refused service. Not only did they accuse us of "harassing" them, but they also dismissed my dog by calling him "bad" and "stupid." If they had simply been honest from the beginning and admitted they weren’t equipped to handle my dog’s needs, we would have taken him elsewhere without hesitation. Instead, their lack of transparency created unnecessary delays, forcing my dog to endure the discomfort and pain of overgrown nails far longer than he should have. This pattern of poor communication didn’t just waste our time—it directly contributed to my dog’s suffering. I am utterly shocked and appalled by their behaviour. My dog is only two years old and has diagnosed anxiety. For a business servicing animals to refer to him in such derogatory terms is not only unprofessional, but inhumane. It is deeply troubling that a company advertising itself as "Highly Trained and Safety Certified" would resort to this kind of language when describing an animal in distress. I strongly recommend anyone considering this grooming service to look elsewhere. There are many grooming businesses in Scarborough with patient, professional staff who can communicate respectfully with their clients. And to Big Dog Little Dog Grooming, I want you to know that I have connections in the veterinary field and local businesses. I will share my experience to others to ensure all are aware of how unprofessionally you operate. I don't wish this experience upon anyone. And lastly, thank you for adding to my dog’s anxiety and distress. His traumatic experience at your practice will make transitioning to a new groomer even harder. May I add that your management frantically called my number to apologize for this incident and we accepted it to move on. Instead, you are still trying to bring this incident to light and frame me for false accusations. Such a laughable business practice. I left my review up for accountability and for other pet owners to understand your behaviours. You don't need to consistently comment on this, editing your response to fit your narrative. Simply accept that you were in the wrong and move on. That's all you have to do to be a good business. Take accountability. It's as simple as that.
Edit: this is not a fake review, despite the owner commenting this… why would someone fake a review for a dog grooming place? My advice for everyone is to find a professional groomer, not someone who pretends they know about dogs. These have got to be some of the most uncaring people ever. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE IF YOU CARE FOR THEM! They tried cutting his nails and almost choked him out. They told me to come back when there’s 2 people, so today I called to ask when 2 people would be in and this is what the owner said (who I guess was having a bad day) . “I’m not bringing in two people just for your dog who do you think you are? Go somewhere else and stop bothering us”, meanwhile they were the one who asked us to call back … lol. So confused. Anyways that’s a major red flag and I’m glad I didn’t end up taking my dog there! I have recordings of this convo which I can’t post here. Just so random and uncalled for. If you can’t deal with highly anxious dogs you should say that.
