After a very unprofessional ultrasound at this network's other location, I tried this location in hope I could receive competent and compassionate care; my experience with this location was just as inappropriate. I have a disability that requires me to have a support person in the room for the invasive exam I needed to get, the technician dismissively repeated to me over and over that they do not allow support persons in this clinic, despite there literally being a sign inside the exam room that there are "chaperones available upon request." The technician told me that the only disabilities that need help are physical -- as long as I can physically get myself up on the table, I am not entitled to have my disability accommodated. She argued with me for over 5 minutes with the door open, where other patients could hear me divulging to her the details of my disability and accommodations needed, and the receptionist sat listening to the entire exchange without getting involved in any way. When I flatly told the technician that if they refuse to accommodate disabilities that means they are denying me medical care and telling me I cannot get the required exam, she just invited me to leave if I didn't want to comply. Finally I pushed and pushed for her to ask anyone else about the chaperone policy -- she went out into the hallway and spoke to the reception who was hearing the entire exchange and made no moves to assist. Reception immediately said it was "fine" and the technician came back in like nothing happened and said she would allow my support person to stay, no apology or acknowledgment that she was wrong. The technician didn't refer to the ultrasound request from my doctor, she kept asking me questions about my "pregnancy" when my form clearly stated I was there for an ultrasound for endometriosis. When I corrected her, her only question was "are you a virgin?". My experiences at this clinic and it's related location were dehumanizing, neither of the technicians should be performing such invasive exams. The only positive I can find about my experience at this clinic is that once the exam began, the technician was quick and efficient. However, now that I've experienced this ultrasound, I realize how poorly my first one at the other location was performed. The first technician spent approximately three times as long doing the transvaginal ultrasound, and was very clearly inserting the wand MUCH farther than the measurement indicated on the consent form, causing me a significant amount of pain.
Don’t go to this place. Old, dirty and unprofessional place. Wouldn’t print baby photo. We booked an appointment and when we showed up,they were surprised to see us.
So nice and caring people!!! I was very touched by the ultrasound technician's attitude and care. I will gladly choose this location for any x-rays and ultrasounds. Thank you!
